1. Globalization and Sustainability Just like people of different ages have different methods of coping with anxiety, people of different cultures also have varied ways of dealing with anxiety. Some people may choose to communicate that they need help verbally, while others may choose to communicate it indirectly. It all depends on a person's personality and how they approach situations like these. When it comes to coping, some may use folk healers, some use herbs or teas, some use amulets, some use medicine, and some use doctors or nurses. The way in which people choose to cope with anxiety greatly depends on their culture. 2. Orientation in Time and Space Because the study of anxiety disorders is fairly new, methods of dealing with it have remained the same for the most part. However, some methods seem to be more effective than others. Often times, people will try to cope with the negative feelings and emotions that come with anxiety by avoiding situation that make them anxious. Unfortunately, avoiding it can have a negative affect and can actually make someone's anxiety worse. A more effective way of dealing with anxiety would be to seek a psychologist or attend psychotherapy. 3. Fairness and Development There are many factors that can determine the severity of someone's anxiety. Some people are simply more susceptible to having a worse case of anxiety as they grow older before they are even born. Some babies are "high-reactive," meaning that they get highly uncomfortable with new stimuli. Being "high-reactive" typically does not go away and can affect someone for life. Other reasons as to why someone might have a more severe case of anxiety than others is because it can be hereditary, because of stress levels, or because of a traumatic event that started the disorder. 4. Scientific and Technical Innovation Unfortunately, studies from the past few years have not been successful enough to find many new ways of coping with anxiety. While there have been minor improvements to commonly used methods, new methods have yet to be made. 5. Identities and Relationships There are several ways in which people cope with anxiety, partially due to the person's personality and what works for them. An interactive person may choose to seek help with a professional like a psychologist, a more shy person may choose to look towards the internet for help, some like to learn what triggers their anxiety so they can learn to control it better, and some may even want to face their problems head on. 6. Personal and Cultural Expression A person's age can also play a role in how they choose to cope with their anxiety. Also, studies have shown that the level of someone's anxiety can increase due to their age. Someone who is younger may choose to deal with their anxiety by talking to his/her parents. Someone who is a little bit older and has a more severe case may choose to be medicated.
